CARRIAGE BARN EXHIBITION F.A.Q.
This page supplements the exhibition prospectus.
Please refer to the prospectus for all basic requirements

The ANNUAL MEMBERS’ EXHIBITION is open to all NCSA members.   ALL MEDIA are accepted.  Original work only, not previously exhibited at the Carriage Barn.  No reproductions are accepted.  NCSA reserves to right to decline work deemed unduly fragile and/or potentially dangerous.

SIZE Requirements
2-D – 48" is the optimal maximum horizontal measurement, 72" is the optimal maximum vertical measurement.  However, if you have work larger than this in either dimension, please contact NCSA to discuss.
3-D – see Sculpture below.

FRAMING Requirements
Work, framed or unframed, must be securely WIRED FOR HANGING.  Brackets, short hooks and loops DO NOT fit on the gallery hanging system.  Work on stretched canvas (or equivalent) does NOT have to be framed, but must be wired securely.

NCSA makes every effort to protect art work.  However, because of the number of pieces received and the number of times work is handled, framing is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED to safeguard artwork, especially works on paper.

There is NO requirement for frame color, material, contour.  Either glass or plexi.  (Please note:  Clip frames with exposed glass edges are difficult to protect and cannot be guaranteed.  If you use such a frame and it chips or breaks, NCSA will not pay for replacement.)

SCULPTURE
Must be assembled, safe, secure, and ready for display.  Sculpture should not exceed 75 lbs. and must be easily moveable by one or, at most, two people.   If you provide your own pedestal, it must be clean, well maintained, secure, and easily moveable.  Please note that you must provide felt, cork, rubber, or other "feet" for any sculpture if you wish to use the NCSA pedestals (12 x 12 x 38 (or 43) inches, charcoal lacquer finish).

DIGITAL IMAGES
Giclee prints that reproduce work from other media are NOT accepted.  Giclee (or Iris or other digital print formats) of original digital images ARE accepted.
